Dr. Konrad Steiner, medical officer of the SS who just finished his studies, it gets allocated to the concentration camp of Auschwitz in late summer of 1943, in order to avoid the dreaded hospitals Russian front. Upon arrival at Auschwitz is face to face with a terrible reality: the system of industrial disposal of thousands of prisoners (final solution), mainly Jews, but also Gypsies, Russians, communists and homosexuals.. Steiner contemplated also the cruel medical experiments in vivo, one of whose leaders is Dr. Josef Mengele, curiously Konrad friend's father in Munich. With the protection of this, Steiner develops a bloodless to test the effect of testosterone on homosexuals, which is followed with interest by the upper echelons of the SS. “The Auschwitz friends” is a novel, written in a real historical context from two different perspectives, which highlight certain flashes of friendship and humanity between people immersed in that hell-set of all evil without a trace of any good-it was Auschwitz, like other similar lager.
